Deadlands, The Pits and Callahan Gate
EDITOR’S NOTE: -Arthur is resting, he may be a bit traumatized. Give him time-
On the 141st day of the war, the colonial regiment [CRG] deployed its paratroopers in the region of Deadlands. After the briefing we took off from Barronswall at 9pm and headed for the airfield of The Pits. Escorted by two fighters the first flight went smoothly. Landing safely in the Pits to take our paratroopers and to refuel. With our soldiers ready we took off again heading for DZ ABLE, just EAST of Callahan Gate. Unfortunately, our high command redirected us to the core of the city of Callahan gate. Our jump master opened the bay and our guys jumped on the city one had this to say :
“As I'm one of the few who survived this jump I can say, this was a mistake, we were intercepted by fighters in the air and as we jumped the warden FLAK opened fire, some of my friends were exploded by heavy anti-air fire. When we finally touched the ground, they were here, waiting for us. This was a massacre. I survived only because I landed further than my friends and escaped to friendly lines.”
As we headed back to the pits, our escort spotted three warden planes heading right for us. Our escort engaged them but there were too many of them. So many bullets hit us and we fell from the sky, both our engines dead. Our pilot told me and the Co Pilot to eject. We fell and saw the plane crash in a field, the pilot still inside. We were saved by a Search and Rescue squad from the NEP coalition. Brought back to the pits it was the end of our tour.
Our reporter on it's way to Callahan Gate in the cockpit for some photos.
