ABANDONED WARD SEIZED

WAR 97, DAY 1-24, ABANDONED WARD, The Deadlands -- Legionary forces stormed into the cratered streets of Abandoned Ward from the Pits in the early hours of War 97 start. Equipped with construction vehicles and adequate force of arms, a defence was rapidly established around the city centre before Caovish forces could mount a major response to the incursion from The Boot.

Our PressCorps Reporter, Draccos, reported live from the city as Legionary forces breached the neutral city's barricades in force. He noted the incredible speed at which Legionary forces moved into the city. To his knowledge, this was the fastest capture of the city in the isthmus’ history. It would be hours after Caoivish recon units reported Colonial men at arms seizing control of the major thoroughfares that a major military response to the Legion presence would materialize. 

Fierce fighting would break out and continue for over two weeks as the city's fate hung in the balance. Reprieve for Legionary forces would only arrive on the 18th day as the Caoivish forts around Callahan’s Boot found their supply routes under severe threat and were forced into a fighting retreat from their entrenched positions. In the end bodies would litter the landscape northeast of Abandoned Ward from hilltop to beachfront and alley to valley. A costly but critical moment in this 97th war.
