Day 107, War 125
Transept, The Clahstra
Many Wardens in Transept today are left with feelings of demoralisation and frustration after a push into Scurvyshire saw not only the shattering of their spearhead, but a counterattack that would see the Wardens lose even more ground. The operation began a few days prior to this reporter’s arrival on the front, and would envision the Wardens seizing control of the Scurvyshire area and gaining a subsequent foothold in Allod’s Bight. Capturing Scurvyshire would have allowed for the entry of water-based logistics into the region, as well as denying the Colonials one of only two roads into The Drowned Vale from Allod’s Bight. Unfortunately for the Wardens, their plans would not be able to come to fruition.

Logistics vehicles shot to bits on the road
Finding a wealth of MG nests and Colonial resistance there to meet their advance, a gratuitous battle would unfold. Warden infantry would manage to hold and gain a little ground, however their reliance on the bridge over to Transept for supplies would end up spelling disaster for advancing troops. Colonials raiders would see the bridge destroyed, effectively severing not only the supply lines for the Wardens, but also their only effective route of retreat. Attempts to rebuild the bridge went underway, and upon its completion logi trucks would attempt to race through the oncoming MG fire to try and supply the dwindling numbers at Watchful Nave. Little to none would make it through, and Dunnes would come to a horrifyingly gentle stop along the road, addled with bullets in kind with their unfortunate drivers. The tactics of the Legionnaires were paying off, netting them control of Watchful Nave and forcing the Wardens into another bloody and protracted bridge battle.
As time of writing, the bridge battle rages on. Wardens are attempting to use mounted and mobile machine guns to defend the bridge and regain what territory they have lost. It is clear that morale is in short supply though, one medic disclosed that they had been there for two days and did not feel like the Wardens had really achieved anything, and any progress that was made was done at a creeping tempo. Loading another group of wounded into their ambulance, there was a palpable sense of dread and exhaustion emanating from the medic, and everyone there for that matter. Hope, it seems, is running low right now, and a snowstorm is setting in. We hope that everyone out there fighting on this cold, godforsaken night is able to find a little solace, or at least a hearty spot at the campfires for a little respite.
