Day 30-117, War 120
Stema Landing, Base Sagitta
In the early morning of Day 30, a group of Wardens sea sick after hours on a barge land on Base Sagitta with many well-placed explosives and the landing of a construction vehicle; a chink in the armor of Stema Landing, and the West Coast of the Colonial Legion.
For 87 days an Island named after the Constellation Sagitta, or 'arrow' in Latin, held against constant barge naval invasions, against landings of anywhere between six to fifteen Colonials at a time. Barges filled with pushguns and infantry, eventually even Colonial tankettes pushed up the beach for 80 days with no results. Logistical routes into Base Sagitta were dangerous for sure, and yet Warden interviews after the fact seem to conclude that logistics was fairly consistent if not for the occasional uptick in losses, and the consistent losses that come inherently with water logi.
Colonial marines clearing ennemy barges following an attemped landing
That was until it fell on Day 117 of the war; a Colonial naval invasion at the right time managed to take back control of the island. It was swift, the Wardens holding on gave it all they had but eventually fell. All that stands on the island as of writing is a relic base, a decaying bunker base, and one curious reporter.
This is the kind of operation that was indicative of War 120's naval warfare.
