A FIERY TESTAMENT TO NERO

WAR 113 DAY 558, The Fingers, SECOND MAN --- After hours of waiting, in the early morning of Day 558 trucks carrying rockets and towing DAE 3b-2’s would arrive. In the early rays of sunlight these weapons of destruction would be hastily assembled by the men and women of the Swords of Maro [SOM]. As this occurred, I was invited to observe the intended target, a fortified Warden stronghold. Located in Titancall, it presented a major barrier to the Colonial advance North.

Returning from the observation I saw the guns loaded and aligning their aim. Preparing myself for the defeaning sound of incendiary rockets I was wanred that I should stay back, finding cover in case of counter barrage retaliation. A few minutes later, the first barrage was sent. So began the hurry of soldiers reloading, another salvo letting loose not long after the first. Warned trough the radio of the [SOM] observer, the artillery crew adjusted in order to hit the target. And another salvo was readied and fired. I was told that after a few salvos, the coordinates would be adjusted to perfection. So I waited, continuing to watch the soldiers reloading, again and again, now assisted by some passing infantry.
